The Orientation Training day is a full-day training workshop for prospective whānau champions to learn about the Tiaki Whānau, Tiaki Ora programme, roles, resources & responsibilities.
Tiaki Whānau, Tiaki Ora resources have been developed that promote key messages and strategies to build healthy whānau and prevent suicide.
This is a free training. You can decide after the training if you want to share these resources with whānau by becoming a Whānau Champion.

Manaaki Tangata– presents a Māori model of practice, highlighting fundamental aspects important for Māori wellness and interactions, that can be applied to whānau health and suicide prevention. This one-day wānanga is the first part of the Manaaki Ora suite of Cultural wānanga.
The Manaaki Tangata wānanga also has an online module to complete as part of the registration process. Follow the registration link for details.
It is recommended that participants also register for and attend day 2 of the Manaaki Ora Wananga: Te Ihi Ora (link provided below).

Te Ihi Ora provides an exploration of important concepts and practices from kaumātua kōrero, encouraging participants to evaluate concepts within their own professional practice. This one-day wānanga is the second of the Manaaki Ora suite of wānanga.
